Gavin Grift

Curriculum Development Hub Coordinator

Gavin Grift has worked extensively as a classroom teacher, assistant principal and educational consultant. Gavin was the Professional Learning Leader for the Mulberry Hill Cluster (Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne) from 2005 to 2007. With Jane Satchwell he co-authored a book titled “Assessing the Whole Child: How to Create Powerful Portfolios and Student Led Conferences (Hawker Brownlow - 2007).

Gavin is currently working with the Australian National Schools Network (ANSN) in the area of Curriculum Development, Instructional Design and Cognitive Coaching SM. He has facilitated the learning for 20 schools in the development of a more authentically learner centred curriculum.

As Director of the Association of Innovation in Education (AIE), Gavin is currently leading three schools through the ‘Tomorrow’s Schools Today’ Project. This project explicitly supports schools to build the capacity of leaders, teachers and students utilising Cognitive Coaching℠, mentoring, modelling, teaming and collaborating through an action learning approach.

Gavin has worked with schools, teachers and students in Australia and the United Kingdom in a variety of roles such as: teacher, researcher, consultant and facilitator for change and improvement.
